On 4 September 2025, a roundtable on international arbitration for in-house counsel took place at the Geneva offices of Pestalozzi Attorneys at Law.
The event brought together in-house counsel to exchange experiences, address current challenges and share practical insights into the complexities of arbitration.
The roundtable was introduced by Simon Gabriel, President of the ICC Swiss Commission of Arbitration and ADR and Partner at Gabriel Arbitration, the discussion was led by a distinguished panel: Patrycja Kolwas (Legal Director, Global Dispute Resolution, COFCO International), Beatriz Restrepo (Senior Legal Counsel, MSC), Alexandra Johnson (Partner, Pestalozzi) and Frank Spoorenberg (Partner, NKF).
The roundtable explored key issues for in-house counsel, such as managing arbitration costs and budgets, drafting or negotiating arbitration clauses, selecting or challenging arbitrators, as well as striking the right balance between confidentiality and transparency.
