ICC World Chambers Congress 2023
Geneva was the world capital for chambers of commerce and businesses as the ICC World Chambers Congress took place from 21 to 23 June 2023. We proudly look back on a successful event.
The ICC World Chambers Congress 2023 was organised by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), its World Chambers Federation (WCF) and the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services (CCIG).
The central theme of the Congress was "Achieving peace and prosperity through multilateralism". Many economic actors, business leaders and policy makers took part, as well as renowned speakers from around the world such as Mathias Cormann (OECD), Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala (WTO) or Klaus Schwab (WEF). From Switzerland, among others, Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, Simone Wyss Fedele, Christoph Mäder and Patrick Odier were speakers.
A highlight of the congress was the unveiling of the "Geneva Manifesto", a powerful pledge by chambers of commerce to revitalise international trade with a renewed commitment to multilateralism for peace and prosperity.
ICC Headquarters has compiled a collection of "key takeaways" from the congress.
ICC Switzerland and economiesuisse were present with a joint booth in the exhibition area. On the first day of the congress, our booth became the meeting place for the Swiss participants as we organised a get-together in our "Swiss corner". We were pleased by the attendance at our booth during all three days of the congress and could feel that people were very interested in the work of our organisations.
